Who’s It For?
Private healthcare for the ‘Police Family’: today, tomorrow, and always.
The National Police Healthcare Scheme is specially designed to protect the health of everyone in the ‘Police Family’. This includes serving Police Officers, Student Officers, Police Staff, and their families, as well as Special Constables and members of police-related organisations, including the National Crime Agency (NCA), College of Policing, NPCC, and staff of police charities.
From quick diagnosis to expert medical treatment and exceptional rehabilitation, we help members get the healthcare they need to facilitate a fast recovery. Our member benefits include:
Rapid access to first-class private medical diagnosis and treatment
Free membership of the Police Treatment Centres
Exclusive access to luxury holiday homes
We are not-for-profit, so all subscriptions go back into supporting the scheme
Who can join?
The National Police Healthcare Scheme ensures that those who serve and protect the public receive the healthcare support they need, both during and after their service.
Police Officers
Gain peace of mind that comprehensive and specialised healthcare is swiftly accessible. The scheme is there for both serving and retired Police Officers to ensure you remain healthy during service and post-service (membership can be carried into retirement; you cannot join post-retirement).
Staff of related police bodies
This includes the National Crime Agency (NCA), College of Policing, NPCC, and staff of police charities.
This can be crucial in getting back to work quickly after illness or injury.
Police Staff
Regardless of your role, as a member of Police Staff, you are fully eligible to join the National Police Healthcare Scheme. In exactly the same way as Police Officers can, you can carry membership into retirement.
Family Members
When an immediate family member, such as a spouse, partner or child, suffers an illness or injury, we know it can be stressful and worrying. This is why we extend our cover to include spouses, partners, and dependent children.
Special Constables
Special Constables are paramount to policing. As a member of the National Police Healthcare Scheme, you can access prompt medical treatment and mental health support.
Student Police Officers
Quick access to medical treatments, specialist appointments, and surgeries helps you avoid long wait times that can occur in public healthcare systems.
